Volunteers Week
1-7
th June is a week to celebrate our volunteers. Most clubs in most sports rely
on volunteers to make sure your children can enjoy the sport they love. Without
these dedicated individuals many activities and events simply wouldn’t happen.
So a big THANK YOU to all of those who take the time to help out; it is greatly
appreciated.
Level X Racing
The club ran a Level X event on Sunday 30th. The kids dusted off their race suits
and stepped up onto the blocks for a fun session of 50m sprints and 100m IM.
Some competitive racing against their team mates is always an enjoyable
occasion and hopefully it won’t be too long before we can compete against
other clubs.
Stages 8-10
Our Stages and some of our younger ‘Sunday swimmers’ will make their long
awaited return to the pool on 9th June at Downside school. It has been a difficult
road but it will be great to see them back swimming again. Remember: You
must complete your online forms before you can return!
Vacancies
The committee will be holding an open meeting for all members to learn about
what it takes to run the swimming club. At the AGM in November several roles
will be made available and will need to be filled for the club to continue to
operate successfully. Some of the vacant roles will include Chair Person, Club
Secretary, Welfare Officer and Competition Secretary.
It is a good opportunity to get involved and the sooner you do the better. You
can join our team and work with us learning as you go ready to take the reins
come the new year.
