LEVEL 2 SWIMMING TEACHER/TRAINEE COACH

Up to £15 per hour, depending on experience

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Level 2 Swimming Teacher to work alongside our Head Coach and his team. The successful candidate will oversee our fantastic Stages team with the opportunity to progress towards a Level 1 & 2 Coaching Certificate.

 

The Role:

 

  • To assist, and in time, to take over the delivery of our LTS Stages 8-10 lessons on Sunday afternoons.
  • Alongside the Head Coach, to provide a high level of instruction and coaching to our Junior Squad swimmers looking to advance into the Senior Squad.
  • To assist the Head Coach in progressing swimmers towards qualifying at County, Regional and National level.
  • To attend and help manage the FSC team at local swimming meets.
  • To provide additional support and holiday/sickness cover for the Head Coach, or when he is away at meets.
  • Over time, to look at the potential to develop a Masters/Adult Swimming program.

 

Skills/Experience Required:

 

  • Proven experience of teaching swimming to all ages and abilities
  • Experience in planning and delivering swimming sessions.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to work as a team and develop positive working relationships with the other teachers, clubs and organisations.
  • Willingness to communicate and liaise with parents and other club members.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to adapt and take responsibility.
  • Understanding of swimming structures & development pathways at local, regional and national level.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Willingness to achieve the ambitious goals set for both swimmers and the club.
  • Flexible approach to working arrangement
  • Commitment to Health & Safety of all swimmers.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • ASA Level 2 Teachers qualification or equivalent.

 

This appointment will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure and requirement for Swim England Safeguarding training.
