Somerset ASA County Championships

Excellence and Enjoyment....
It has been a long, hard, four consecutive weekends for our swimmers involved in the Somerset County Championships at Millfield. They have had some tough races against the best the County has to offer and they have done themselves, their families and club proud. When all you can do is do your best our swimmers have excelled. With no less than 90 PB’s throughout the competition they all stepped up and performed exceptionally well.
A special mention to Amy Gordon, Jonas Fisher, Hugo Jones and Bethan Davis who have all achieved Regional qualifying or consideration times. And also to Alisha Freeman who along with some regional times also won two bronze medals at the Counties.
Of course, these events can only run with support. A huge ‘Thank You’ to our volunteers and officials who gave up their time for the event: Liezel Albertine, Tanya Billing, Lynne Carpenter, Tegan Carpenter-George, Karen Carter, Kathi Cowing, Sarah Davis, Tim Davis, Emma Endicott, , Stuart Evans, Jennie Fisher, Mark Foster, Aaron Freeman, Dave Jones, Lina Jones, Liz Metcalfe, Jennie Muskin and Sally Tuffin (apologies if I have missed anyone).
Well done, of course, to all you parents who made sure your kids were there on time and ready for their big opportunity.
And finally, I would like to say a special ‘Thank you’ to Head Coach Pete Billing. He was there throughout this competition ALL DAY EVERY DAY to support our swimmers and it is a credit to him and his team that they have achieved what they have.
