29 Jul 2020

As you know leisure facilities and swimming pools were given the green light to reopen from 25 July. Some sites have been quicker to act than others; our local facility at Frome has yet to open and we still have no idea when this is likely to happen.

As a result we have found an opportunity at RiversMeet in Gillingham to get our swimmers back into the water throughout August. Training will be at 8 - 9.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  We hope to start from Monday 3 August.

Because of social distancing requirements, swimmer numbers are currently limited to 30 per session.  We are therefore opening the sessions to Squad swimmers, including Masters and Transition squads in the first instance.  As our Stages swimmers would not usually train during the summer holidays we are working to find ways to get them back in the pool, hopefully to start in September if we can find pool time.

Due to COVID-19 regulations we will need all participants to complete an online health declaration which will be sent to you via email. To ensure everyone's safety this must be done before you can swim so please complete this as soon as you receive it giving us a chance to get everyone back as soon as possible, we hope to link this to the booking for each session.  More information will be sent out via email.

We will do our best to ensure things return to normal for our swimmers as soon as we can but this is a great step towards getting them back in the water which I know they are all desperate to do!
Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
