Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework
(Stages 8-10)

Stages 8-10 are designed to develop the fundamental Sport Skills of the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway. They build on the swimming skills learned in Stages 1-7 and they have been developed with the grass roots programmes of the sport, so are great if your child wants to take up competitive swimming, but also fantastic for developing a healthy attitude to excersise which will hopefully carry forward into adulthood. Admission to these Stages is by coach assessment. You will need to have completed either the Frome SC Killer Whale award, SE Learn to Swim Stage 7 or be able to demonstrate similar ability. If you would like to come for a trial swim then please fill out and submit the form.

Our Stages sessions are one hour long and run during the 40 weeks of Somerset School term time, on a Sunday evening from 4pm - 5pm at Frome Sports Centre, the fees are £30 per month.
Swimmers in these groups are registered with Swim England as Cat 1, the £25 fee for this is collected when they initially join the club and then every following January. If they wish to start competing in Open Meets the registration would need to be upgraded to Cat 2. This would cost £20 at the time of the upgrade and then £45 per year from the following January. This registration provides insurance for them to swim at the club. All fees are collected via Diredt Debit.

Admission to this Stage can be via either, invitation by the coach, completion of Frome SC Killer Whale award and/or SE Learn to Swim Stage 7.

Admission to this Stage can be via either, invitation by the coach or completion of SE Learn to Swim Stage 8.

Admission to this Stage can be via either, invitation by the coach or completion of SE Learn to Swim Stage 9.

Transition Swimmers

Once swimmers have completed Stage 10, they will be invited to join our Transition swimmers. This group is the gateway into the Competitive Squad, they train alongside the Competitive Squad and can swim up to three training sessions per week, please check the calendar page for details. They will be encouraged to start entering some events at the Open meets that the club regularly attends and once the coaches are happy that they are ready to take on the training commitment needed, they will be invited to join the competitive squad.

The fees for this group are £40 per month and are collected via Direct Debit, admission is either promotion from stage 10 or invitation from the coach. If you would like to come for a trial swim then please fill out and submit the form. Swimmers in this group are registered with Swim England as Cat 1, the £25 fee for this is collected when they initially join the club and then every following January.
